  • Free consultation visit to meet the midwives and explore your birth options

  • Confidential pregnancy tests and counseling

  • Individualized visits including lab tests, wellness care, nutritional counseling, physical assessment, ample time for your questions, and time to get to know one another

  • Welcoming of partners, children, and family members at visits

  • 36-37 week home visit for families planning a home birth

  • Local resource network including birth education classes, local pediatricians, naturopathic physicians, doula services, acupuncture, massage, birth tub rental, and more

  • Appropriate medical consultation/referral for when a pregnancy deviates from normal

  • 24-hour on-call paging system

Gentle Labor and Birth Care

Your choice of home or birth center services from 37 weeks to 42 weeks of pregnancy

  • Water birth

  • 24-hour-a-day availability by a midwife

  • Support in your labor

  • Ongoing assessment of mother and baby's well-being

  • Qualified birth assistant in addition to midwife at every birth

  • Medical consultation/transport when deviations from normal occur

Attentive Postpartum Care and Guidance

  • Care and support by your midwife in the immediate postpartum period, normally 3 to 6 hours after birth

  • Complete exam of your baby after birth

  • Ongoing breastfeeding support

  • Postpartum visit the day after the birth for you and your baby

  • 4 postpartum visits offered in the first 6 weeks—more if needed

  • Care of your normal newborn for the first 2 weeks of life

  • Standard newborn tests offered

  • Birth certificate services

  • 6-week follow-up to offer well-woman care such as breast exams, Pap smears, and family planning options
